Enjoy the Summer Rural Rendezvous tour west of Edmonton.
Take part in the fun and games of the olden days at the Stephansson House Harvest Fair and Penny Carnival from noon to 5 p.m. There will be food, demonstrations and music throughout the afternoon.

Take in the sights, sounds and smells of the Harvest Festival at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum. See more than 40 vintage agricultural machines in action and learn how to bake tasty treats with daily bread-baking demonstrations. Festival admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, $5 for youth aged 7-17 and $20 for families (two adults and children 7-17). Children six and under are admitted free.

Join in a journey through a magical display of dancing flames, waltzing water fountains and blasting pyrotechnics with Fire & Water — The Dragons Awaken at the Royal Alberta Museum. This free event begins at 4 p.m.

Today is the nomination deadline for the Norm McLeod Community Inclusion Awards. The awards honour Albertans who are dedicated to involving adults with developmental disabilities in community life.
Other events
Dragons: Between Science and Fiction, explores the myth and reality of dragons, and our enduring fascination with this creature. The bilingual exhibit features more than 200 artifacts from dozens of museums and private collections around the world, including fossil remains that gave rise to dragon legends. The exhibit is open at the Royal Alberta Museum from June 14 through September 14.
See artifacts from the wreck of Canada’s worst maritime disaster, the Empress of Ireland, at the Royal Alberta Museum. The gallery features artifacts salvaged in 1964, including dining room ceramics, glassware, and fragments of furnishings and navigational equipment. The exhibit is open from May 29 through October 5.
With one of the largest francophone communities outside of Quebec and Ontario, Alberta boasts a rich and active French culture. Learn about the history of Alberta's francophones at the Provincial Archives’ latest exhibit, Les Francophones en Alberta: Courage et détermination.
The exhibit runs from May 14 to September 6 and is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.
Alberta Arts Day is on September 6, 2008, and communities across the province are celebrating with festivals and events in July, August and September.
